Since commencing in 2003 the Centra Crosshaven Challenge has gone from strength to strength. It has gone from hosting 7 teams of 3 athletes, to last year accommodating over 300 tri-athletes, making it one of the most successful triathlons in the country. It is also now recognised as one of the best run events on the triathlon calendar.
The event is sponsored by Lynch’s Centra Crosshaven , and all funds raised from the Triathlon are donated to local Charities, Groups, Clubs and initiatives, to aid the development of our local community. (See Beneficiaries for full list)
To date the Centra Crosshaven Challenge has raised over €165,000 for the local community and this years entries will increase the total fund further.
The Triathlon consists of a 500 meter swim followed by 10 kilometre cycle finishing with a 5 kilometre run, The event caters for all standards and includes some of the top tri-athletes in the country as well as first time competitors and people out to enjoy themselves.
